Volunteer with us!

There is an opportunity for almost everyone who shares our values and vision! We are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for everyone who volunteers with us. We have volunteers who are former service users, students, retired, unemployed, employed, disabled, non-disabled, old and young.

We aim to find a volunteering role to suit the individual, and we screen all our volunteers who will have contact with children.

You could help us to:

  • Cook or deliver meals to families in crisis
  • Visit and befriend a lonely older person
  • Play and care for young people who are disabled or ill
  • Accompany and support people on medical appointments
  • Visit patients in hospital

Training for volunteers

If you are already a volunteer with Bikur Cholim, we have various training and social events you can attend.  Please look at our upcoming events for news of activities.

Investing in Volunteers Quality Mark

In October 2010, Bikur Cholim became the first Jewish organisation to achieve the Investing In Volunteers Quality Mark.  The award is the UK quality standard for organisations which involve volunteers in their work and enables organisations to comprehensively review their volunteer management and publicly demonstrates their commitment to volunteering.

If you would like to find out how you can make a difference and share our passion for volunteering, please contact our Volunteer Coordinators:
